House Republicans have voted to defund Obama's new healthcare law. By refusing to allocate funds to the new healthcare law, Republicans are making a mostly symbolic gesture rather than a real threat to the law. It has become quite clear that a Supreme Court ruling is necessary for President Obama's new healthcare law to be taken seriously by republicans.
When President Obama signed the new healthcare legislation, at the time, it was considered a longshot that the courts would repeal Obamacare. Now however, repeal seems more plausible after two out of four federal judges have struck down the law.
The majority of legal scholars believe that in the end, the Supreme Court will uphold Obamacare. I personally hold with this view as well.
